Nuseynov Buys Brookhill To Launch New Kentucky Farm
Azerbaijani businessman Mammad Huseynov (who spent US$800,000 on the sale-topping Storm Cat colt Don Gato at the 2008 Keeneland April Selected 2YOs-in-training sale) has purchased Kentucky's 100-acre Brookhill Farm on Yarnalton Road near Lexington (formerly operated as a saddle-bred farm) "with plans to launch a thoroughbred breeding operation" reported bloodhorse.com. In Azerbaijan, Huseynov (whose primary business is real estate) "maintains a large breeding & racing operation (including a newly built racetrack in the capital city Baku). Bloodstock agent Hanzly Albina (who will serve as Huseynov's chief of North American operations) confirmed Huseynov "currently does not have broodmares in the US, but has plans to personally attend & purchase mares during the Fasig-Tipton & Keeneland November breeding stock sales".
