Elusive Quality Adds UK Black-Type

Friday, 25th July 2008

In the UK overnight, Darley shuttler Elusive Quality (Gone West-Touch Of Greatness, by Hero's Honor) added a juvenile black-type success when US-bred daughter Honest Quality (Elusive Quality-Honest Lady, by Seattle Slew) snatched victory by a head in the Listed £30,000 (A$63,000) Star Stakes (7 furlongs) for 2YOs at Sandown Park. Juddmonte home-bred Honest Quality (ridden by Ted Durcan for trainer Henry Cecil) defeated fellow fillies Beat Seven (Beat Hollow-Twenty Seven, by Efisio) & Irish-bred Touching (Kheleyf-Feminine Touch, by Sadler's Wells). Honest Quality (a half-sister to Gr3-winner First Defence & French Listed winner Phantom Rose) took her record to 2 wins & a placing from 3 starts; her dam Honest Lady "is a Gr1-winning half-sister to Empire Maker & Chester House," noted the-racehorse.com.
