10-Time French Champ Sire Highest Honor Retired
In France, after standing 20 years at Alec Head's Haras du Quesnay in Normandy, Highest Honor (Kenmare-High River, by Riverman) has been retired aged 25, reported thoroughbredinternet.com. On the track, Highest Honor (bred by Haras de la Louvière) won France's Gr1 Prix d'Ispahan as a 4YO, after finished runner-up in both the Gr1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains (French 2000 Guineas) & Gr1 Prix Jean Prat as a 3YO. Subsequently at stud, Highest Honor was leading French stallion in 1991, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 & 2002. He sired 7 Gr1-winners: Dedication, Reve D'oscar, Marotta, Medaaly, Sagacity, Admise & Royal Honor. In addition, as a broodmare sire his dams have produced: Geordieland, Stella Blue, Ruwi, Bernebeau, Ponte Tresa & Groom Tesse. And his stallion sons include: Verglas, Take Risks, Sagacity, Vangelis, Baroud D'honneur & Medaaly.
