Street Cry Adds US Gr2

Monday, 28th July 2008

Former Darley shuttler & Gr1 Dubai World Cup winner Street Cry (Machiavellian-Helen Street, by Troy) added a US juvenile graded-stakes success when his colt Desert Party (Street Cry-Sage Cat, by Tabasco Cat) scored a 3.25-lengths victory in the US$150,000 Gr2 Sanford Stakes (6 furlongs) for 2YOs at Saratoga. Favourite Desert Party (ridden by Edgar Prado for trainer Eoin Harty) defeated front-running colt Officer Ipod (Officer-Ms CD Player) & fellow colt Vineyard Haven (Lido Palace-Princess Aloha, by Aloha Prospector). Kentucky-bred Desert Party was originally a US$425,000 yearling at the 2007 Keeneland September sale & resold for US$2.1 million to Darley at February's Fasig-Tipton Florida Select 2YOs-in-training sale. He now has 2 wins from 2 starts.
