1st Winner For US Freshman Sire Perfect Soul

Former Canadian champion & Irish-bred 10-year-old US freshman sire Perfect Soul (Sadler's Wells-Ball Chairman, by Secretariat) recorded his 1st winner when 2YO Kentucky-bred filly Classy Gem (Perfect Soul-Classiest Gem, by Dehere) scored by 3.25-lengths on debut over 5 furlongs at Canada's Assiniboia Downs in Winnipeg for trainer Carl Anderson, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Perfect Soul stood the 2008 season for US$15,000 at Darby Dan Farm in Kentucky & has 86 2YOs in his 1st-crop. On the track, Perfect Soul won 7 of 21 starts (including the 2003 US Gr1 Shadwell Keeneland Turf Mile Stakes, 2003 Canada Gr2 King Edward Breeders' Cup Handicap at Woodbine & 2004 US Gr2 Maker's Mark Mile Stakes at Keeneland in a turf course record that still strands, plus runner-up in Canada's 2004 Gr1 Atto Mile Stakes) for US$1,527,764 earnings.
