Tuesday, 29th July 2008

In the US, former Darley shuttler & Gr1 Dubai World Cup winner Street Cry (Machiavellian-Helen Street, by Troy) added a Gr1 triumph when 4YO entire Street Boss (Street Cry- Blushing Ogygian, by Ogygian) "closed with a rush from the outside to complete a last-to-first rally" & notch his 5th consecutive win with a 1-length victory in the US$300,000 Gr1 Bing Crosby Handicap (6 furlongs on the all-weather Polytrack) at Del Mar in California, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Street Boss (ridden by David Flores for trainer Bruce Headley) "cemented his status as a leading contender for the Gr1 Breeders' Cup Sprint" (on October 25 at Santa Anita Park) in defeating In Summation (Put It Back-Fiesta Baby, by Dayjur) who won this race last year & Jungle Prince (Sir Cat-Wayward Song, by Seattle Song). Kentucky-bred Street Boss has recorded 6 wins & a runner-up in 7 starts this season (including victories in May's Gr3 Los Angeles Handicap over 6 furlongs at Hollywood Park & last start's Gr1 Triple Bend Invitational Handicap over 7 furlongs at Hollywood on July 5); overall he now has 7 wins from 11 starts for US$581,800 earnings.
