Wednesday, 30th July 2008

The New Zealand Equine Research Foundation is bringing Associate Professor Paul McGreevy to NZ as the lead speaker for this year's Bomac Lecture Series in late August. McGreevy (whose best-selling 2004 guide for veterinarians & equine scientists titled Equine Behaviour is now a standard text in universities & colleges throughout the world) "will be drawing on his research to explore a number of areas of equine behaviour relevant to owners, handlers, trainers, farriers & veterinarians". In addition, Massey University's Dr Bill Pomroy "will present recent information on parasite control, including issues that are emerging on drench resistance & how to achieve sustainable control of parasites in the future". This year's Bomac Lectures will be held at 4 locations in the last week of August:

  • Christchurch (Sunday 24 August) Riccarton Racecourse
  • Invercargill (Tuesday 26 August) Ascot Park Hotel
  • Palmerston North (Friday 29 August) Awapuni Racecourse
  • Hamilton (Sunday 31 August) Te Rapa Racecourse
