Danehill Adds UK Gr3

Monday, 11th August 2008

Ill-fated multiple champion Coolmore sire Danehill (Danzig-Razyana, by His Majesty) added a UK group success when the Niarchos family's Irish-bred 5YO entire Multidimensional (Danehill-Sacred Song, by Diesis) scored a 1.25-lengths victory in the £75,000 (A$158,000) Gr3 Rose Of Lancaster Stakes (10.5 furlongs) at Haydock. Multidimensional (ridden by Ted Durcan for trainer Henry Cecil) defeated 6YO mare Bahia Breeze (Mister Baileys-Ring Of Love, by Magic Ring) & US-bred 4YO entire Spanish Moon (El Prado-Shining Bright, by Rainbow Quest). Earlier this season, Multidimensional finished runner-up in June's UK Gr2 Hardwicke Stakes (12 furlongs) at Royal Ascot; & overall he now has 5 wins (also including 2006's French Gr2 Prix Guillaume D'Ornano over 2000m at Deauville) & a runner-up from 12 starts for £167,064 (A$350,000) earnings.
