Giant's Causeway Adds US Black-Type Quinella

Former Coolmore shuttler Giant's Causeway (Storm Cat-Mariah's Storm, by Rahy) added a US black-type quinella when 5YO entire Fairbanks (Giant's Causeway-Alaska Queen, by Time For A Change) scored a 5.75-lengths victory in the US$111,000 Listed Duke Of Magenta Stakes (9.5 furlongs) at Saratoga on New York. Fairbanks (ridden by Richard Migliore for trainer Todd Pletcher) defeated 6YO entires Angliana (Giant's Causeway-Pratella, by Jade Hunter) & Magna Graduate (Honor Grades-Peacock Alley, by Fast Play). Earlier this season, Kentucky-bred Fairbanks (a half-brother to Gr2 winner Keats) finished runner-up in both March's Gr2 Gufstream Park Handicap (9.5 furlongs) & April's Gr3 Bill Hartack Memorial Handicap (9 furlongs) at Hawthorn. And in 2007 he won the US Gr3 Tokyo City Handicap (9 furlongs) at Santa Anita Park, as well as finishing runner-up in both the Gr1 Suburban Handicap (10 furlongs) at Belmont Park & Listed Massachusetts Handicap (9 furlongs) at Suffolk Downs.
