Rock Of Gibraltar Adds US Black-Type
Coolmore's 7-time Gr1-winning shuttler Rock Of Gibraltar (Danehill-Offshore Boom, by Be My Guest) added a US black-type success when Irish-bred daughter Sweeter Still (Rock Of Gibraltar-Beltisaal, by Belmez) scored a 1.25-lengths victory in the US$85,000 Listed Sandy Blue Stakes (8 furlongs on turf) for 3YO fillies at Del Mar in California. Sweeter Still (ridden by Garrett Gomez for trainer Jeff Mullins) defeated Dawn Before Dawn (High Yield-Lady Quatorze, by Louis Quatorze) & Gorgeous Goose (Mongoose-Gorgeous Me, by Big Spruce). Previously this year Sweeter Still won March's Listed China Doll Stakes (8 furlongs on turf) at Santa Anita, then finished runner-up in April's Gr2 Providencia Stakes (8 furlongs on turf) at Santa Anita & won May's Gr3 Senorita Stakes (8 furlongs on turf) at Hollywood Park.
