Betfair Sales Growth Above 30% In Aust

In Australia, incoming chief executive Andrew Twaits at on-line betting exchange Betfair "says the economic slowdown is having little impact & after 4 months of trading in its new financial year the company is on track to beat its goal of 30% sales growth," reported The Australian Financial Review. Twaits (due to begin as chief executive on October 16) summed up: "There's no change in strategy." The newspaper noted noted Betfair would "continue to concentrate on organic growth of its on-line betting exchange operations" & on "trying to overturn regulations which prevent it from advertising its services."
