Goffs Yearlings Day-2: $1.7m Danehill Dancer Filly

Wednesday, 1st October 2008

Coolmore agent Demi O'Byrne paid top price of €1 million (A$1.7 million) for a filly by Coolmore shuttler Danehill Dancer (out of Black Tie Affair mare Starlight Dreams) during the 2nd session at the 3-day Goffs Million Yearling Sale at the Curragh in Ireland overnight. The filly (consigned from Ashtown House Stud) is a full-sister to this season's unbeaten Ballydoyle-trainer 2YO colt Mastercraftsman (whose 4 successive victories include Ireland's Gr1 National Stakes over 7 furlongs, Gr1 Phoenix Stakes over 6 furlongs & Gr2 Railway Stakes over 6 furlongs). O'Byrne told racingpost.co.uk: "She was an obvious one being an own-sister to such a good 2YO. She's also a very good-looking filly & her sire is just going from strength to strength."
