Goffs Yearlings Day-2: $680k Galileo Filly

Wednesday, 1st October 2008

Agent Simon Christian (acting for owner Patrick Fahey) paid €400,000 (A$680,000) for a filly by former Coolmore shuttler & Gr1 English Derby winner Galileo (out of winning Cadeaux Genereux mare Starchy) consigned from Roundhill Stud. Fahey's current star 2YO colt Soul City won last weekend's rich €1 million (A$1.7m) Goffs Million (7 furlongs) at The Curragh & this filly's dam Starchy is a full-sister to Gr2 Flying Childers Stakes winner Land Of Dreams. Christian told racingpost.co.uk: "She was just a lovely, sweet filly from a fine fillies' family & it's a fast family too. She's a great walking, athletic sort and, although she's a 1st foal, we liked her an awful lot."
