Haatef Retired To Derrinstown Stud

Wednesday, 1st October 2008

In Ireland, Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum's US-bred 4YO entire Haatef (Danzig-Sayedat Alhadh, by Mr Prospector) "has been retired to Derrinstown Stud in County Kildare," reported the-racehorse.com. Last year Haatef won both the UK Gr2 Diadem Stakes (6 furlongs) against older rivals at Ascot & Irish Listed Belgrave Stakes (6 furlongs) also against older rivals at The Curragh, as well as finishing 3rd in Ireland's Gr3 Desmond Stakes (8 furlongs) against older rivals at Leopardstown. A cracked "canon bone on the gallops" prompted connections to retire Haatef to stud.
