Brunetti Rejects Offer To Buy Hialeah Park
Meanwhile technology entrepreneur Halsey Minor announced John Brunetti "has rejected his 1st official offer to buy Hialeah Park" in Florida, reported bloodhorse.com. Minor "would not disclose his proposed price for Hialeah" (the historic track that opened in 1925 & last held races in 2001), but said Brunetti (who has owned Hialeah since 1977) turned down the offer & countered "with a much higher number than the proposal I gave him." Minor, 43, is the founder of CNET Networks & in 2004 Fortune magazine estimated his net worth at US$286 million. He owns several thoroughbreds including filly Dream Rush (who won 4 graded stakes as a 3YO in 2007).
