Louisiana Yearlings: US$65k Fillies Top Bids

The 1-day Breeders Sales Company Of Louisiana Yearling Sale (sponsored by the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association) at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe saw 2 fillies top the bidding at US$65,000:

  • Agent Tony Richey (acting for Oak Leak) bought a Lemon Drop Kid filly (out of Majestic Light mare Royal Flex) consigned by Red River Farm. The filly is a half-sister to both Gr1-winner Chief Honcho & the dam of stakes-placed Flexible Princess & Our Colors.
  • Lee Young Farm bought a Leestown filly (out of With Approval mare Bussalma) also consigned from Red River Farm (as agent for Jay Adcock & Neal McFadden. The filly's dam Bussalma has also produced Caribean Sea (a dual champion in the Dominican Republic) & multiple stakes-winner We'll Sea Ya.
