US Gr1 Star Majestic Warrior Retired To Ashford Stud

Friday, 3rd October 2008

US Gr1-winning 3YO colt Majestic Warrior (A.P.Indy-Dream Supreme, by Seeking The Gold) has been retired & will stand his 1st year in 2009 at Coolmore's Ashford Stud in Kentucky, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Majestic Warrior (whose dam Dream Supreme was a multiple Gr1-winner) won 2 of 7 starts (including the 2007 Gr1 Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga) & earned US$239,229; however he injured a foot in the 2007 Gr1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park & "never regained his impressive form following a 5-months layoff". Trainer Bill Mott noted: "He was always very professional, a perfect student. You couldn't ask for a nicer horse to train. It was just sheer bad luck that he suffered his hoof injury. But for that setback, I am confident he would have been a major player in this year's Triple Crown events. I'm also sure he'll pass on his tremendous talent. He could hardly be better qualified. He's a winner of one of America's most prestigious juvenile prizes. He's by a Horse-Of-The-Year with 2 sires' championships to his credit & his 1st 2 dams were both Gr1-winners." Dream Supreme & 2nd-dam Spinning Round both won the US Gr1 Ballerina Stakes & collected 10 graded-stakes between them.
