Brahms Adds US Gr2

Former Vinery shuttler Brahms (Danzig-Queens, by Mr Prospector) added a US group success when 5YO gelding Arson Squad (Brahms-Majestic Fire, by Green Dancer) scored a 2.5-lengths victory in the US$350,000 Gr2 Meadowlands Cup Handicap (9 furlongs) at Meadowlands in New Jersey. Arson Squad (ridden by Edgar Prado for trainer Richard Dutrow) defeated Gr2-winning 3YO Anak Nakal (Victory Gallop-Misk, by Quiet American) & front-running Timber Reserve (Forest Camp-Fountain Square, by Danzig Connection). Back in 2007, Pennsylvania-bred Arson Squad (unraced as a 2YO) won the Gr2 Strub Stakes (9 furlongs) at Santa Anita; & during 2006 she won the Gr2 Swaps Breeders' Cup Stakes (9 furlongs) at Hollywood Park & Listed San Pedro Stakes (6.5 furlongs) at Santa Anita, plus placing in the Gr2 Lazaro Barrera Memorial Stakes (7 furlongs) at Hollywood Park & Gr3 Affirmed Handicap (8.5 furlongs) at Hollywood Park. Overall Arson Squad now has 6 wins from 19 starts for US$846,850 earnings.
