Marsh Side Wins Gr1 Canadian International

In Canada, US-bred 5YO entire Marsh Side (Gone West-Colonial Play, by Pleasant Colony) scored an upset 1.75-lengths victory in the C$2 million Gr1 Canadian International (12 furlongs on turf) at Woodbine in Toronto in Ontario. Marsh Side (ridden by Javier Castellano for trainer Neil Drysdale) defeated UK-bred 4YO gelding Spice Route (King's Best-Zanzibar, by In The Wings) & Juddmonte Farms Gr1-winning fellow UK-bred 5YO entire Champs Elysees (Danehill-Hasili, by Kahyasi). Overall Marsh Side now has 5 wins (also including 2006's Listed Valedictory Handicap over 14 furlongs at Woodbine, plus runner-up in 2007's Gr2 Northern Dancer Breeders' Cup Turf Stakes over 12 furlongs at Woodbine) from 18 starts for US$1,439,706 earnings.
