Peintre Celebre Adds French Gr2

Tuesday, 7th October 2008

Former Coolmore shuttler Peintre Celebre (Nureyev-Peinture Bleue, by Alydar) added a French group success when 3YO colt Trincot (Peintre Celebre-Royal Lights, by Royal Academy) snatched victory by a head against older rivals in the €130,000 (A$221,000) Gr2 Prix Dollar (1950m) at Longchamp. Trincot (ridden by Ioritz Mendizabal for trainer Philippe Demercastel) defeated Irish-bred 4YO entire Loup Breton (Anabaa-Louve, by Irish River) & US-bred fellow 3YO colt The Bogberry (Hawk Wing-Lahinch, by Danehill Dancer). Earlier this season, Trincot won May's French Gr3 Prix De Guiche (1800m) at Chantilly & finished 3rd in last month's Gr3 Prix Du Prince D'Orange (2000m) at Longchamp; overall he now has 4 wins & 4 placings from 13 starts for £129,734 (A$272,000) earnings.
