Princess Coup Wins NZ Gr1 Kelt Capital

In New Zealand, Coolmore stallion Encosta de Lago (Fairy King-Shoal Creek by Star Way) added a Gr1 triumph when prominent Christchurch owner Ray Coupland's Australian-bred 5YO mare Princess Coup (Encosta De Lago-Stoneyfell Road, by Sovereign Red) captured yet another Gr1 event with a facile victory in the NZ$2 million Kelt Capital Stakes (2040m) run at WFA at Hastings. Ridden by Opie Bosson for trainer Mark Walker, Princess Coup saw of the challenges of 4YO gelding Red Ruler (Viking Ruler-Ransom Bay, by Red Ransom) & 4YO entire Nom Du Jeu (Montjeu-Prized Gem, by Prized). A $260,000 yearling at the 2005 Magic Millions Winter Sale on the Gold Coast, Princess Coup now has 12 wins & 10 placings from 31 starts for $3,913,452 earnings.
