Wednesday, 8th October 2008

In Chile, the colt Gato De La Luna (Sir Cat-Luna Arabe, by Sadlers Congress) blitzed his rivals by 5.75-lengths in the Gr1 Gran Criterium Mauricio Serrano Palma (2nd leg of the Hipodromo Chile Triple Crown) over 1900m for 3YOs in Santiago. Favourite Gato De La Luna (ridden by Gonzalo Ulloa for trainer Juan Pablo Baeza) defeated fellow colts Tepeyac (Dynamix-Diosa Soberana, by Hidden Source) & US-bred Soy Casablanquino (Seeker's Reward-Brigitta, by Barkerville). At his previous start, Gato De La Luna finished runner-up in September's Gr1 Premio Dos Mil Guineas-2000 Guineas (1st leg of the Hipodromo Chile Triple Crown) over 1600m, after winning August's Gr2 Premio Domingo Segundo Herrera Martinez (1500m) at Hipodromo Chile.
