UK Tatts Yearlings Day-1: $1.056m Galileo Filly
McKeever St Lawrence agent Oliver Gaisford St-Lawrence (acting on behalf of Bahrain-based owner Fawzi Nass) out-bid Saudi Arabian-based owner Prince Faisal Salman & paid 480,000 guineas (A$1.056m) for a filly by former Coolmore shuttler & dual-Gr1 English Derby-Irish Derby winner Galileo (out of Rainbow Quest mare Rainbow Goddess) consigned from Chris Budgett's Kirtlington Stud. The filly is a full-sister to last year's Gr1 Melbourne Cup 3rd-placed Mahler & her dam Rainbow Goddess is a daughter of Group 2 Nassau Stakes winner Dancing Rocks (grand-dam of 2000 Guineas winner Footstepsinthesand & Champion European 2YO filly Superstar Leo). Nass recently purchased Aislabie Stud near Newmarket & is looking to purchase fillies that will go on to be foundation mares at the stud.
