US Champ Dreaming Of Anna Retired To Stud

US 2006 champion 2YO filly & now 4YO racemare Dreaming Of Anna (Rahy-Justenuffheart, by Broad Brush) has been retired after her 6th-place finish in last weekend's Gr1 First Lady Stakes at Keeneland, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Trainer Wayne Catalano confirmed owner-breeder Frank Calabrese has sent Dreaming Of Anna to Three Chimneys Farm in Kentucky, but breeding plans are still to be finalised. Kentucky-bred Dreaming Of Anna won 10 of 17 starts & earned US$2,024,550; she led all-the-way to win the 2006 Gr1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies at Churchill Downs, capping an undefeated juvenile season that also included victory over males in Canada's Gr3 Summer Stakes at Woodbine. As a 3YO in 2007, she won the Gr3 Pucker Up Stakes at Arlington Park & Virginia Oaks at Colonial Downs, as well as finishing 2nd in the Gr1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes at Keeneland; & this season she won both the Gr3 Hillsborough Stakes & Gr3 Endeavour Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs.
