Zayat Consigns 90 Tried Horses To Keeneland
Prominent US owner Ahmed Zayat announced his Zayat Stables has 90 horses in the Eaton Sales consignment for the Keeneland November breeding stock sale (including Gr3 winner Baroness Thatcher & this season's Gr1-placed Premium Wine). Zayat plans to make the offering of stock from his racing operation an annual event at Keeneland & noted: "There are many owners who prefer to purchase ready-made racehorses & starting this November, we will provide them with a consistent opportunity. Our focus remains on developing young horses. This approach means we can provide for an under-served market by allowing a broad ownership base to acquire quality racing stock from our stable every year." Zayat Stables owns more than 270 horses (including 170 horses in-training) & currently ranks 2nd this year on the North American list of leading owners by earnings with US$5,545,446. The stable's horses have won 88 races in 2008 & Zayat was the 4th biggest buyer at the recent Keeneland September yearling sale (purchasing 30 yearlings for US$6,732,000).
