UK Tatts Yearlings Day-3: $1.1m Danehill Dancer Colt
Friday, 10th October 2008
Sir Robert Ogden & his bloodstock advisor John Warren out-bid trainers Dermot Weld & Paul Cole to pay 500,000 guineas (A$1.1m) for a colt by Coolmore shuttler Danehill Dancer (out of Listed-winning Sadler's Wells mare Briolette) consigned from Ireland's Barronstown Stud. The colt counts 6-time Gr1-winner Pilsudski & top Japanese galloper Fine Motion as close relatives (both being siblings of Briolette). Ogden indicated the colt will go into training with Jeremy Noseda at his Shafleet Stables base in Newmarket.
