Agamemnon Wins NZ Matamata Cup

Former NZ Glenmorgan Farm & Westbury Stud shuttler Generous (Caerleon-Doff The Derby, by Master Derby) added an NZ black-type success when 5YO gelding Agamemnon (Generous-Oratorio, by Oregon) prevailed in a 3-way photo-finish to the NZ$65,000 Listed Matamata Cup (1600m) at Matamata. Agamemnon (ridden by Corey Parish for trainer Sally Gillespie) scored by a long-neck from Australian-bred 9YO gelding Mohican Brave (Desert King-Alcoban, by Noalcoholic) with a further short-head to 4YO gelding Mill Vinnie (Magic Ring-Vintage Class, by Masterclass). Lightly-raced Agamemnon (passed-in for NZ$13,000 as a yearling at the NZB Summer Sale) now has 4 wins & a placing from 6 starts for $72,225 earnings.
