Claiborne Farm Announces 2009 Stud Fees

Claiborne Farm announced some of its stud fees for the upcoming 2009 breeding season. Spokesman Bernie Sams noted some fees "were lowered in the wake of current economic situations" & emphasised: "This is certainly not a reflection on these young stallions. I have great confidence in them: they have been very well received & have positive sales results. The fees were lowered in an effort to give breeders added value in the face of uncertain market conditions." The 2009 fees are:

  • Arch US$25,000 (same as 2008)
  • During US$5,000 (same as 2008)
  • Eddington US$15,000 (US$20,000 in 2008)
  • First Samurai US$30,000 (US$40,000 in 2008)
  • Flatter US$5,000 (same as 2008)
  • Horse Chestnut to be announced (US$5,000 in 2008)
  • Horse Greeley US$7,500 (1st year at stud)
  • Out Of Place US$5,000 (US$7,500 in 2008)
  • Political Force US$12,500 (US$15,000 in 2008)
  • Pulpit US$80,000 (same as 2008)
  • Seeking The Gold to be announced (US$125,000 in 2008)
  • Strong Hope US$15,000 (US$30,000 in 2008)
  • War Front US$12,500 (same as 2008)
