Galileo Adds UK Gr3

Monday, 13th October 2008

In the UK, former Coolmore shuttler & dual-Gr1 English Derby-Irish Derby winner Galileo (Sadler's Wells-Urban Sea, by Miswaki) added a UK juvenile group success when front-running Irish-bred colt Kite Wood (Galileo-Kite Mark, by Mark Of Esteem) scored a 1.5-lengths victory in the £50,000 (A$105,000) Gr3 Autumn Stakes (8 furlongs) for 2YOs at Ascot. Kite Wood (ridden by Philip Robinson for trainer Michael Jarvis) defeated fellow colts Taameer (Beat Hollow-Vayavaig, by Damister) & Four Winds (Red Ransom-Fairy Godmother, by Fairy King). Kite Wood was a 270,000 guineas (A$594,000) yearling at last year's Tattersalls Sale; he now has 2 wins & a runner-up on debut from 3 starts for £36,048 (A$) earnings.
