Wednesday, 15th October 2008

In the US, deceased Gr1-winning former Coolmore shuttler Hennessy (Storm Cat-Island Kitty, by Hawaii) added a black-type success when daughter Remarkable Remy (Hennessy-Most Remarkable, by Marquetry) scored a 1-length victory in the US$121,000 Listed Pebbles Stakes (8 furlongs on turf) for 3YO fillies at Belmont Park in New York. Remarkable Remy (ridden by Ramon Dominguez for trainer John Kimmel) defeated Senior Rita Lady (Fusaichi Pegasus-Gloriosa, by Pleasant Colony) & Meriwether Jessica (Freud-Chunter's Joy, by Northern Jove). Previously this season, Remarkable Remy also won August's Listed Caveat Competor Stakes (8 furlongs on turf) at Saratoga & finished 3rd in September's Listed Jack Better Be Rite Stakes (6 furlongs on turf) at Belmont. And in 2007 as a juvenile, she won the Listed Swinging Mood Stakes (8 furlongs on turf) at Belmont Park & finished 3rd in the Listed Miss Grillo Stakes (9 furlongs) at Belmont.
