UK Tatts Book 2 Day-3: $880k Danehill Dancer Filly

Thursday, 16th October 2008

Irish veterinarian & Coolmore representative Demi O'Byrne out-bid both Blandford Bloodstock's Richard Brown & Dublin-based agent Peter Doyle to pay 400,000 guineas (A$880,000) for a filly by Coolmore shuttler Danehill Dancer (out of Sadler's Wells mare Evangeline) consigned from Bill & Tara Dwan's The Castlebridge Consignment. The filly carried a major catalogue update after her Exceed And Excel half-sister Infamous Angel won the Gr2 Lowther Stakes at Newmarket. This price also represented a record for a filly at the Book 2 section of the October Yearling Sale (& 2nd-highest price ever, after the colt reported above).
