Trainer Mark Kavanagh confirmed on-going feet problems have forced the retirement to stud of Gr1-winning 5YO mare Devil Moon (King Cugat-Classy Babe, by Masterclass). Devil Moon (passed-in for $30,000 at the 2005 Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale) recorded 8 wins (including 2007's Gr1 Turnbull Stakes over 2000m at Flemington, Gr2 Independent Cranes Stakes over 1600m at Moonee Valley, Gr3 Let's Elope Stakes over 1400m at Flemington, Gr3 Auraria Stakes over 1800m at Morphettville, Listed Port Adelaide Guineas over 1812m at Cheltenham & Listed Nitschke Stakes over 1460m at Cheltenham) & 7 placings (including her final 4 starts in August's Gr3 Cockram Stakes over 1200m at Caulfield, followed by September's Gr3 Let's Elope Stakes over 1400m at Flemington, Gr2 Stocks Stakes over 1600m at Moonee Valley & her final start in the Listed JRA Cup over 2040m at Moonee Valley, plus 2007's Gr1 SAJC Schweppes Oaks over 2000m at Morphettville & Listed Irongate Classic over 1100m at Morphettville) from 24 starts for $1,048,500 earnings.
