Prima Nova Wins Belle Of The Turf Stakes

Monday, 20th October 2008

Coolmore shuttler Danehill Dancer (Danehill-Mira Adonde, by Sharpen Up) added a black-type success when 4YO mare Prima Nova (Danehill Dancer-Bonanova, by Star Way) scored a 0.75-length victory in yesterday's $100,000 Listed Belle Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) for fillies & mares at Gosford. Prima Nova (ridden by Joshua Parr for trainer Anthony Cummings) defeated top-weighted 5YO mare Alverta (Flying Spur-Grilse, by Rahy) & favoured 4YO mare Lustre Lady (Flying Spur-Lucky Lady, by Nashwan). Prima Nova (a $400,000 yearling consigned by Tyreel Stud at the 2006 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) took her record to 4 wins & 2 placings (including June's Listed Sunshine Coast Guineas over 1600m) from 16 starts and $172,167 earnings.
