Former shuttler & now permanently Australian-based Coolmore stallion Royal Academy (Nijinsky-Crimson Saint, by Crimson Satan) added a group success when 4YO gelding Royal Discretion (Royal Academy-Discretion, by Canny Lad) scored a half-length victory in the $125,000 Gr3 Sex & The City Jayco Cup (1400m) for 4YOs & up at Caulfield. Royal Discretion (ridden by Nash Rawiller for trainer Gai Waterhouse) defeated 4YO entire Turffontein (Johannesburg-Spirit Of Grace, by Dr Grace) & 6YO gelding Stickpin (Pins-Reputedly, by Quest For Fame). Royal Discretion (a $180,000 yearling consigned by Attunga Stud at the 2006 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) now has 6 wins (also including May's Listed Hawkesbury Guineas over1400m, April's Gr3 South Pacific Classic over 1400m at Randwick & March's Listed Darby Munro Quality over 1200m at Rosehill) & 3 placings (including June's Gr2 Queensland Guineas over 1600m at Eagle Farm & May's Listed Conrad Treasury Brisbane Plate over 1400m) from 16 starts for $451,325 earnings.
