Tuesday, 21st October 2008

Overall at Doncaster, the clearance rate was 59% at a sale previously held over 2 days later in the week. The £4,181 (A$8,700) average was down 35% & the £2,800 (A$5,800) median was down 33%. The aggregate "fell by 60% on 2007's total, but vendors seeking to move on horses rather than profit reported that buyers were around," commented racingpost.co.uk. DBS managing director Henry Beeby summed up: "We were perfectly happy with today's trade in the current climate as horses were selling."
