Doncaster HIT Day-1: $88k Sulamani Colt

Wednesday, 22nd October 2008

Meanwhile in the UK auction ring overnight, trainer David Barron & his daughter Nicola McLeay paid top price of £42,000 (A$88,000) for 2YO colt Equipe De Nuit (Sulamani-Denica, by Night Shift) during the opening session of the 2-day Doncaster October Horses-In-Training Sale. Equipe De Nuit (who has finished runner-up in his only 2 starts) was consigned from Charnwood Stables & McLeay told racingpost.co.uk: "Someone rang me & asked to buy them this horse, but I won't say who. He's an owner with horses both here & abroad, so I'm not sure where this one will be trained. He liked the idea that this looked a progressive horse & was by Sulamani & should improve as he gets older."
