US Gr2-winning 4YO stallion Elite Squadron (Officer-Sweet Mama, by High Brite) "has been retired from racing & will stand his 1st season in 2009 at Wintergreen Stallion Station in Kentucky for US$7,500" reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Elite Squadron won 5 of 14 starts (including the Gr2 Churchill Downs Stakes over 7 furlongs & Listed Labor Day Stakes over 6 furlongs, plus placings in this season's Gr2 Richter Scale Sprint Handicap over 7 furlongs, Gr2 Commonweath Stakes over 7 furlongs & Gr3 Aristides Stakes over 6 furlongs, before finishing runner-up in the Gr1 Triple Bend Invitational Handicap over 7 furlongs in his final start on July 5 at Hollywood Park) & earned US$507,059. Wintergreen's John Greeley IV noted: "He ran 1st or 2nd in stakes on the dirt, Poly, Cushion Track & Tapeta."
