Thursday, 23rd October 2008

Hong Kong Jockey Club stewards announced they will reconvene their inquiry into the headline-hogging "tips-for-bets bribery scam" on November 3, after Australian jockey Chris Munce is released from jail on October 31. Munce was sentenced to 30 months in prison (for "accepting advantages" in return for providing tips to a HK businessman between December 2005-May 2006) following an investigation by the HK Independent Commission Against Corruption. He served the initial 7 months in a HK prison & then returned to Australia to serve the remainder of his sentence at Silverwater minimum security prison in Sydney.
