Aust-Bred Tell A Tale Wins NZ Canterbury Stakes

Coolmore shuttler Tale Of The Cat (Storm Cat-Yarn, by Mr Prospector) added a black-type quinella when favoured Aust-bred gelding Tell A Tale (Tale Of The Cat-Cheeky Veronika, by Sir Tristram) grabbed victory by a half-head in yesterday's NZ$55,000 Listed Royal Gem @ Stoney Bridge Canterbury Stakes (1600m) for 3YOs at Riccarton Park. Tell A Tale (ridden by Troy Harris for trainer Mark Walker) defeated fellow gelding Grimalkin (Tale Of The Cat-Dawn Till Dusk, by Manntari) & the filly Inferno (Yamanin Vital-Emerald Fire, by Honor Grades). Tell A Tale (originally a $40,000 yearling consigned by Edinglassie Stud at the 2007 Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney & subsequently a $125,000 yearling later that year at the 2007 Magic Millions Winter Sale) now has 3 wins (also including the Gr2 Hawkes Bay Guineas over 1400m earlier this month) & 2 placings from 6 starts for $102,900 earnings.
