Jungle Pocket Adds Gr1 Japan St Leger

In Japan yesterday, former Hollylodge Thoroughbreds & NZ Rich Hill Stud shuttler & 2001 Japanese Horse-Of-The-Year Jungle Pocket (Tony Bin-Dance Charmer, Nureyev) added a classic success when favoured colt Oken Bruce Lee (Jungle Pocket-Silver Joy, by Silver Deputy) scored a 1.25-lengths victory in the ¥273.56 million (A$4.1m) Gr1 Kikuka Sho-Japanese St Leger (3000m on turf) for 3YOs at Kyoto. Oken Bruce Lee (ridden by Hiroyuki Uchida for trainer Hidetaka Otonashi) defeated fellow colts Flotation (Special Week-Daiichi Flone, by Real Shadai) & Namura Crescent (Yamanin Seraphim-Sakura Komina, by Sakura Shori). Last start Oken Bruce Lee (unraced as a 2YO) finished 3rd in September's Listed Kobe Shimbun Hai (2400m on turf) at Hanshin & overall now has 4 wins & 2 placings from 7 starts.
