Monday, 27th October 2008

Deceased Blue Gum Farm stallion Rubiton (Century-Ruby, by Seventh Hussar) added a group success when super-consistent 5YO gelding Lucky Secret (Rubiton-Won't Tell, by Rory's Jester) scored a 2.25-lengths victory in the $200,000 weight-for-age Gr2 Schweppes Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley. Lucky Secret (ridden by Danny Brereton for trainer Tony Vasil) defeated 4YO mare Bel Mer (Bel Esprit-Drop Anchor, by At Talaq) & 7YO gelding Mr Baritone (Stravinsky-Tunisia, by Sanglamore). Lucky Secret (a $220,000 yearling at the 2005 Inglis Easter Sale) now has 9 wins (also including 2007's Listed Sir John Monash Stakes over 1100m at Caulfield) & 2 placings (including last start in the Gr2 Schillaci Stakes over 1000m at Caulfield on October 11 & August's Gr3 McEwen Stakes over 1000m at Moonee Valley) from 12 starts for $444,900 earnings.
