Monday, 27th October 2008

In Australia, NZ Cambridge Stud's multiple champion sire Zabeel (Sir Tristram-Lady Giselle, by Nureyev) added a Gr1 triumph when front-running 6YO gelding Maldivian (Zabeel-Shynzi, by Danzig) scored a 1-length victory in the $3 million weight-for-age Gr1 W.S.Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley in Melbourne. Maldivian (ridden by Michael Rodd for trainer Mark Kavanagh) defeated 7YO gelding Zipping (Danehill-Social Scene, by Grand Lodge) & favoured 3YO filly Samantha Miss (Redoute's Choice-Millyet, by Zabeel).
