Miss Badoura & Bird Of Fire Share Inglis Mile

Monday, 27th October 2008

Ealing Park's former Gr1 Melbourne Cup-winning stallion Kingston Rule (Secretariat-Rose Of Kingston, by Claude) & former Coolmore-owned Cambridge Stud shuttler Stravinsky (Nureyev-Fire The Groom, by Blushing Groom) shared a group success when 8YO mare Miss Badoura (Kingston Rule-Lady Hedwig, by Amyntor) & 4YO mare Bird Of Fire (Stravinsky-Go You Beauty, by Comet Shine) dead-heated in a thrilling 4-way photo-finish to the $125,000 Gr3 Inglis Mile (1600m) for mares 4YO & up at Moonee Valley. Miss Badoura (ridden by Steven King for Leon Corstens) & Bird Of Fire (ridden by Blake Shinn for Tony Vasil) gained the judge's decision by a head from 3rd-placed dead-heating 5YO mares Permission To Land (Fantastic Light-Miss Alliance, by Miswaki) & favourite Princess Marizza (Scenic-Rose Of Marizza, by Nassipour). Miss Badoura now has 11 wins (also including last start's Listed Carsales.com.au Classic over 1600m at Caulfield on October 15) & 12 placings from 53 starts for $350,2500 earnings. And Bird Of Fire (a NZ$40,000 yearling consigned by Esker Lodge at the 2006 NZ Bloodstock Select Sale) now has 3 wins & 9 placings (including last start's Listed Carsales.com.au Classic over 1600m at Caulfield, plus September's Gr2 Stocks Stakes over 1600m at Moonee Valley & 2007's Listed Arrow Training Services Stakes over 1600m at Moonee Valley) from 18 starts for $191,540 earnings.
