Fully Fledged Wins NZ Sarten Memorial

Tuesday, 28th October 2008

In New Zealand, Highview Stud's Australian-bred stallion Align (Night Shift-Super Trend, by Red Anchor) added a black-type when his colt Fully Fledged (Align-Fledged, by Bluebird) scored a 1.25-lengths victory in yesterday's NZ$60,000 Listed James & Annie Harten Memorial Stakes (1400m) for 3YOs at Te Rapa in Waikato. Fully Fledged (ridden by David Walsh for trainers Murray & Bjorn Baker) defeated the geldings Altered Image (Strategic Image-Dented Ambition, by Danasinga) & Australian-bred Kildonan (Invincible Spirit-Game Lady, by Lord Seymour). Fully Fledged (a NZ$38,000 yearling consigned by Curraghmore Stud at the 2007 NZ Bloodstock Carnival Sale) took his record to 3 wins (including March's Gr1 Ford Diamond Stakes over 1200m at Ellerslie) & 3 placings (including his previous start in the Gr2 Hawkes Bay Guineas over 1400m at Hastings 3 weeks ago) from 10 starts for $198,463 earnings.
