Lucky Secret Half-Brother At Magic Millions January

Tuesday, 28th October 2008

Meanwhile a yearling half-brother to ultra-consistent 5YO gelding Lucky Secret (Rubiton-Won't Tell, by Rory's Jester) is catalogued for January's Magic Millions Sale on the Queensland Gold Coast. The colt is by Darley shuttler Elusive Quality, whose latest star 3YO colt Raven's Pass notched his 2nd successive Gr1 triumph against older rivals with victory in the weekend's US$5 million Gr1 Breeders' Cup Classic (10 furlongs on all-weather) at Santa Anita Park in California. On the same day in Melbourne, front-running Lucky Secret won the Gr2 Schweppes Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley to take his record to 9 wins (also including 2007's Listed Sir John Monash Stakes over 1100m at Caulfield) & 2 placings (including his previous run in the Gr2 Schillaci Stakes over 1000m at Caulfield on October 11 & August's Gr3 McEwen Stakes over 1000m at Moonee Valley) from 12 starts for $444,900 earnings. His (& the yearling colt's) dam Won't Tell (a stakes-performer at Flemington in her own right) has also produced both: Gr3 Tranquil Star Stakes winner & Gr1 Thousand Guineas runner-up Hinting; & Saturday's debutante 2YO filly No Comment (Danzero-Won't Tell) who finished runner-up (beaten by just a short-halfhead) over 1000m at Moonee Valley in her 1st race start.
