4-Time Gr1-Winner Henrythenavigator To Stud At Ashford

Coolmore confirmed overnight that 4-time Gr1-winning 3YO colt Henrythenavigator (Kingmambo-Sequoyah, by Sadler's Wells) who finished 2nd against the cream of the world's older rivals in last weekend's US Gr1 Breeders' Cup Classic (10 furlongs on all-weather) at Santa Anita Park in California has been retired for stallion duty at Ashford Stud in Kentucky with an initial fee still to be finalised. Kentucky-bred Henrythenavigator (a half-brother to Irish group winner Queen Cleopatra) recorded 6 wins (including both May's UK Gr1 2000 Guineas over 8 furlongs at Newmarket & Gr1 Irish 2000 Guineas over 8 furlongs at The Curragh, plus a track record in June's UK Gr1 St James's Palace Stakes over 8 furlongs at Royal Ascot followed by his 4th successive Gr1 triumph of the season with victory against older rivals in July's UK Gr1 Sussex Stakes over 8 furlongs at Goodwood, as well as 2007's UK Gr2 Coventry Stakes in record time at Royal Ascot) & 4 placings (also including September's UK Gr1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes over 8 furlongs at Ascot, plus 2007's Irish Gr1 Phoenix Stakes over 6 furlongs at The Curragh & Gr2 Futurity Stakes over 7 furlongs at The Curragh) from 11 starts for US$2,750,538 earnings.
