- The front-running victory by 6YO gelding Maldivian (Zabeel-Shynzi, by Danzig) in Australia's premier weight-for-age event, the Gr1 Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley in Melbourne, highlighted his half-brother: a colt from the oldest crop of Dormello Stud's Gr2-winning Redoute's Choice stallion Duelled. Maldivian boasts 8 wins (also including 2007's Gr1 Yalumba Stakes, Gr3 Easter Cup & Listed JRA Cup) & 10 placings (including 2008's Gr2 Memsie Stakes, Gr2 Liston Stakes & Gr2 Carlyon Stakes, plus 2007's Gr2 Liston Stakes & Listed Naturalism Stakes) from 26 starts for $2,541,550 earnings.
- The victory by 3YO gelding Millbank (Keeper-Woodini, by Woodman) in Australia's Gr3 Wonderful World Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley highlighted his full-sister: bred by Kelvin Mahood's WH Holdings & consigned from Jo Wilding's Te Mania Thoroughbreds farm (the same duo who also bred & consigned Millbank to the 2007 Karaka Sale, where he sold for NZ$64,000). Millbank now has 3 wins from 4 starts for $96,750 earnings.
- The victory by 3YO gelding Tell A Tale (Tale Of The Cat-Cheeky Veronika, by Sir Tristram) in NZ's Listed Canterbury Stakes (1600m) at Riccarton Park highlighted his half-brother: a colt by Widden Stud 1st-season sire Snippetson consigned from Ainsley Downs. Tell A Tale has 3 wins (also including the Gr2 Hawkes Bay Guineas earlier this month) & 2 placings from 6 starts for $102,900 earnings.
