Elusive Quality Adds UK Black-Type

Friday, 31st October 2008

On the UK track overnight, Darley shuttler Elusive Quality (Gone West-Touch Of Greatness, by Hero's Honor) added a black-type success when US-bred 4YO mare Baharah (Elusive Quality-Bahr, by Generous) finished strongly from the rear of the field to snatch victory by a nose in the £40,000 (A$96,000) Listed Fleur De Lys Fillies Stakes (8 furlongs on all-weather) for fillies & mares at Lingfield Park. Top-weighted favourite Baharah (ridden by Hayley Turner for trainer Gerard Butler) defeated Irish-bred 5YO mare Harvest Queen (Spinning World-Royal Bounty, by Generous) & fellow Irish-bred 3YO filly Kylayne (Kyllachy-Penmayne, by Inchinor). Previously this season Baharah also won July's UK Listed Valiant Stakes (8 furlongs) at Ascot & finished runner-up in February's UK Listed Ladybird Stakes (8 furlongs on all-weather) at Kempton. Overall she now has 5 wins & 3 placings from 13 starts for £98,048 (A$235,000) earnings.
