Aust Jockey Noel Callow's Sudden Singapore Exit
In Singapore, Australian jockey Noel Callow has withdrawn his application for an extension to his riding licence & will return to Melbourne next week. Callow explained: "The constant battle with my weight has finally taken its toll on me. I don't think I am doing justice to myself or my mounts the way I'm feeling at the moment. I'm going to head back to Australia & take a couple of months off & get myself mentally refreshed & then look at getting my weight back in check. When I get everything sorted out back in Australia, I would like to think I could have another attempt at riding here in Singapore." In his 2 seasons riding in Singapore, Callow recorded 172 winners from 675 rides at a 25.48% strike-rate. His biggest success came on Top Spin in last year's Gr1 Singapore Derby (2000m).
