NZB Yearlings Day-2: NZ$600k Encosta De Lago Colt

Te Akau Racing's David Ellis paid another NZ$600,000 for a colt by Coolmore stallion & last season's Australian champion sire Encosta de Lago (the 8th foal out of unraced 14-year-old Sir Tristram mare Devil's Lair) consigned by Pencarrow Stud. The colt's dam Devil's Lair (a half-sister to Gr3-placed Noisy Peer) has 5 foals to race for 4 winners, including Gr1-winning 2002 NZ Bloodstock Filly-of-The-Year Vapour Trail, Gr2-winner Santagostino & stakes-placed Glenview Lass.
